First let me begin with the fact that I love working with people. I began in the Hospitality industry, and completed a 3 year apprenticeship in Austria, working at a Five Star hotel in one of the most world renowned ski resorts. I then moved back to Canada and worked in other fine establishments in Montreal, Vancouver and in Victoria. My experience in the Hotel and Restaurant industry has taught me the importance of attention to detail while always striving to exceed guest expectations.
After 10 years in the industry and having started a family in that time, I was feeling the need for a change.
I had always been intrigued with the beauty industry. To me, it also meant that it offered a much better balance of my time with my family and my career. I naturally made the switch in 2001 and worked in retail sales for a cosmetic company.
I quickly came to the realization that I really had a passion for cosmetology, and for making people feel their best in mirroring their beauty from within.
Retail Sales had undoubtedly taught me a lot, but I felt that there was something missing. Being around the industry while selling cosmetics, gave me the “itch” to want to apply the creative edge which I have always known that I was born with.
Always priding myself on how my own nails looked, it was only natural to want to pursue a career in Nail Technology and Artistry. So after the birth of my youngest child in 2004, I decided to go back to school to learn the skill and art of making hands, nails and toes feeling and looking their best.
Soon after I graduated from Martier School of Hair Design and Esthetics, I began working from a high end salon in Sidney, BC where I continued to learn and grow professionally, working with nail masters and always striving to perfect my skills.
In February 2009, the opportunity presented itself to open In Vogue Nails on Wain Road, in North Saanich, at my home. I offer a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere – away from the hustle and bustle while maintaining meticulous standards using superior nail care products and promoting exclusive services to each of my clients.
